The history of an industrial baking of bred in a Vitebsk begins with 1928 when on the basis of a bakery №1 and three bakeries the Vitebsk bread-baking complex has been formed. Up to 1928 manufacture of products was made on small bakeries scattered in the different ends of city and subordinates to the central working cooperative society. All operations on preparation of bread were conducted manually. The batch was made on heat furnaces. Premises of bakeries did not meet elementary requirements and norms of the enterprises.

With growth of city of dews and combine. In 1933 one more factory has been constructed. It was a building, adequating all to norms of the food enterprise of that time. Daily capacity of the enterprise made 100 tons of products. The base of a baking of bred in Vitebsk by 1941 was those. During Great Domestic war all the enterprises of a bread-baking complex have been completely destroyed. After clearing city of fascists works on restoration of the enterprises have begun. In 1946 the bakery ¹ 1 has been restored and put in operation. Having adjusted release of bread, the enterprise has started work on mechanization of floor spaces, increase in capacity of a factory, release of new kinds of production. Following data testify to rates of growth after war: in 1944 annual release of products was made with 2,4 thousand tons, and in 1981 12867 thousand tons has made, i.e. release has increased in 53 times.

From year to year the factory expands assortment of let out production. Now the assortment of bakery and confectionery products makes 1515 positions.

Within the sovereignty of Byelorussia the enterprise continues to work successfully. Greater work on creation of specialized lines, shops, sites, on concentration of manufacture, escalating of capacities is lead. Last years the trading network of shops ("Bread", " Fresh bread ", "Hlebservice") is organized. In 1999 the commercial and industrial complex " Loaf Pridzvinnya " is opened. The second decade workers have an opportunity to send in the summer of the children in improving camp " Wood fairy tale ".

Now in structure of RUME " Vitebskhlebprom " as branches includes 11 bakeries, "Vitebskhlebstroy"and CME "Projector"
